Buckethead的個人作品比較怪異，如果你之前從沒聽過的話建議先下載《Electric
Tears》和《Colma》這兩張聽聽。另外《Colma》這張我已發佈了無損格式的：
Colma
Buckethead is one of the most bizarre and enigmatic figures in American
underground and experimental music since Parliament-Funkadelic birthed
their bevy of cosmic characters in the mid-'70s. An accomplished multi-
instrumentalist best known for his virtuosic command of the electric
guitar, Buckethead is one of the instrument's most recognizable
contemporary innovators, his rapid-fire riffing, near-robotic fretwork, and
idiosyncratic lead lines combining elements of Yngwie Malmsteen, Adrian
Belew, Slayer's Kerry King, P-Funk's Eddie Hazel, and avant-improv artist
John Zorn's Scud-attack sax abuse. His first group, the San Francisco-based
metal-funk combine the Deli Creeps, were a regional success, but
disbanded before they could release anything. Buckethead's solo career
has been more productive, thanks mostly to the motivation of Zorn and
Bill Laswell, the latter of whom Buckethead has also recorded and toured
with in Praxis. Laswell has also produced a number of Buckethead's solo
albums (including Dreamatorium and Day of the Robot) and included him on
more than a dozen one-off recordings with the likes of Hakim Bey, Bootsy
Collins, Anton Fier, Jonas Hellborg, and Bernie Worrell. In addition to
releases including 1998's Colma, Buckethead has also contributed soundtrack
material to such films as Last Action Hero and Street Fighter. Buckethead
returned in 1999 with Monsters and Robots, after which he joined the
short-lived reformation of Guns N'Roses. A steady stream of releases
followed into the 21st century ranging from the contemplative Electric
Tears to more electronica/rock hybrid, and collaborations with San
Francisco's underground hip-hop scene.
做為Paul Gilbert學生的他，從90年代初期就開始了個人吉他音樂的探索，錄製了大

而得來的。他是著名吉他手--Paul Gilbert的高徒，他做的音樂有令人費解的電子樂

不時有人向我打聽起Buckethead，為什麼他戴著面具，頂著個桶？他的父母怎麼了？
他是半人半機器嗎？他會傷人嗎？他真的是個科洛爾?山德斯（譯者註：肯德基的創始
人）迷嗎？等等。我無法告訴你們關於他所有的一切，只能說一些而已。
首先你們得知道Buckethead在那家農場裡確實是非常孤獨地長大的。他找不到可以理
解他的人。關於他，別人唯一知道去做的便是如何欺負他。不管你們是否相信，直到
今天，Buckethead也不會對一根趕牛的刺棒感到毛骨悚然，他已經見慣不驚了。
不過在農場裡這並非糟糕透頂。他一搬進雞捨就開始結交新朋友了，小雞仔們把他照
顧得非常好，而且它們太喜歡他，以至於把他的臉都抓沒了。所以他每天都得戴著面
具，就像過萬聖節一樣！他是他所認識的孩子中最幸運的。儘管他並不認識多少其他
的孩子，除了那時候拿火燒他的那些。
有一個好辦法可以忘掉軟骨燒著時的氣味。雞捨在一座山上，山下有一片籬笆，透過
籬笆上的一個木節孔可以看到外面的露天電影院。於是每天晚上這小孩便在暮色裡看
那些精彩的電影，像《巨人羅伯特》或《德州鏈鋸殺人狂》等。揚聲器傳出的聲音到
不了雞捨，所以他甚至不知道那些電影的聲音是什麼樣的。當Leatherface砰然關上巨
大的金屬門裡他所能聽見的就只有小雞的聲音。
當差不多長到現在這般高的時候Buckethead便開始彈他的小吉他了。他會坐那兒眼瞅
著電影而手指在吉他上動個不停，漸漸的，他也能偶爾弄點音樂出來了。而《巨人羅
伯特》刺激著他的指頭的速度，沒有人知道會發生什麼。
Buckethead勤奮地練琴，他開始彈得很好了。但農場的人依然取笑他，把他們家的雞
蛋打得稀爛。一天夜裡，那時他已經長得這麼高個兒了，有人把一桶炸雞扔進了雞捨
。Buckethead試了又試還是不能把雞肉拼回到一起，所以他只好把桶頂在了頭上，拿
起吉他，跑進了墓地。
Buckethead真的很悲傷，但他的吉他卻似乎比以前任何時候都彈得好了。墓地裡灰色
的人和天使們都在聆聽他的音樂，太美妙了，他們停住了腳步，忘記了言語。通過他
頭上的桶，所有那些他曾經認識的被炸了的小雞們都在與他溝通，他彈出了它們所有
的靈魂，他彈啊彈啊，直到虛脫為止。
故事講到太陽終於出來，公雞打鳴。有些Buckethead老家的人說他把小雞的油脂和燒
烤調味醬抹在面具上嘴巴的孔四周。不管那天夜裡發生了什麼，那個桶就那樣呆在他
頭上了，到了早上裡面裝滿了雞骨頭。
當發現他蜷縮在一座墳墓上時，人們真的覺得這很不好，所以他們試著暫時地對他好
一點。早上人們給他拿來了水，把他們不要的小東小西給他。聖誕節時他甚至得到了
一把舊鏟子，於是他能夠在墓地裡交更多的朋友了。但最棒的事情卻是農場的雇工向
他演示如何裝成一個海盜或Carribean或神出鬼沒的曼森幽靈去溜進迪斯尼樂園。
於是有生以來首次，Buckethead知道他得乾什麼事了。迪斯尼樂園是他所到過的最棒
的城市。每個人都很好，他們跟他說話，唱著歌，他們的動作也比他在墓地裡的那些
朋友們來得真實。於是他燒掉了他的雞捨前往小鎮的主街，在那裡他為得到電子票（
E-Tickets）而彈吉他。他學會了所有的歌曲和樂句，但每次他想找一份製作電子動物
的工作時，人們卻把他拽到了舞台上。
如果不能在迪斯尼樂園住下來，他就得去別的地方了。他知道如果他像迪斯尼先生那
樣建造一個公園的話，全世界的人都會來造訪他。或者即使他不能，他的這個公園裡
也會滿是他的聲音電子動物朋友。他得讓小雞們住進來，得在公園中間建一塊大大的
墓地，讓雕像和墓碑以特別的方式排列成行來製造最好的聲學效果。
當Buckethead在1989年無聲無息地出現時，人們根本不能辨認出那是個公園。粗糙的
環境主要由生銹的拖拉機零件和一堆由蜘蛛絲捆起來的木棍和動物骨頭組成。
Buckethead知道如果他想維持這個公園的話他就得去掙錢，而且人們再也不會做電子
票了。他開始在熟食店切肉，而在店裡他遇到了
Maximum Bob並組了他的第一個樂隊
Deli Creeps。
在接下來的13年裡，Buckethead彈著吉他周遊了世界、錄專輯、交朋友，還學會了給
屍體上防腐劑的秘訣和主題公園的建設，以及武術。他獨自或是與朋友們一起或是在
樂隊——Praxis、Giant Robot、Giant Robot 2、El Stew、Thanatopsis和
Cobrastrike——裡錄了許多專輯。對自己沒有時間為露天電影院演奏音樂他覺得十分
傷心，所以他與Michael Kamen、George S. Cliton和John Carpenter一起錄了一些電

物上。自1992年以來他就是研究Buckethead的首席專家。
